I am sure you have seen the massive wave of spamming on my website. This is
good and bad. The only good reason is that it means that my website is
worth while to spam, the bad reasons are pretty obvious. But I threatened
and they didn't listen, so I wrote some code to help block some of it.
It will take a little bit, but you will slowly start to see a decline in
the amount of spam posts here. If I block you and feel this is wrong, use
the contact button on the left to get a hold of me and we will try to
work things out. If you spam me there, then you will be blocked via all
communications. Simple as that.
Open Office is
currently in version 2.4 with version 3.0, from what I have gathered, in
the last quarter of this year. So what will the new version have in it
that is different? There will be native support for importing PDF
documents (you can only export currently). There will also be support for
the new Microsoft Office 2007 Open XML file format (.docx, .pptx, .xlsx).
Another new feature is the ability to publish directly to
MediaWiki which
is used for
Wikipedia and
many other wiki-like sites. There are many other new features due out
such as notes in the margin. All these along with performance
improvements, Open Office is coming closer and closer to being a direct
competitor to MS Office. If Open Office would improve their user
interface, they probably could get even more people to switch; lets face
it, Microsoft's UI for Office is pretty slick.
I personally use Open Office and was bored at about 12:30 A.M. so I
decided to change the splash screen that appears when you open Open
Office. I know it's dorky, but if you are reading this web site, I am
sure that you are a little dorky yourself. So if you are a Open Office
user, and like the Zelda series, check out the below image (I am
looking into how to try and replace the Office splash screen, if you
know how, please contact me). To use this as your spash screen, save it
to your computer, navigate to the Open Office program directory (default
location is C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org X.x\program, replace
X.x with your version) and replace the intro.bmp with this image.
Hulu.com is perfect for any of you who can't afford cable TV, but have
an Internet connection, or if you missed one of you favorite shows and
do not want to wait until the re-run comes on. The may not have every
show under the sun, but they do allow you to watch TV shows and movies,
100% legally, with just a couple commercials that are 30 seconds in length.
Thanks to my father who pointed me to this website, below is a sample
of what you get at Hulu.com,
the latest episode of The Office. At Hulu's website, you can watch the
videos in full screen.
