Well last night at 8:00 P.M. last night, I finished up my last class for this year. That is
why I haven't wrote anything on the site for over a week, it's not that I didn't want to,
I was just really busy with finals and everything.
Firefox 3.0 beta 2 was released three days ago and I have decided to download it and play
with it. So far it is fairly similar to 2.0. So far, most everyone is raving about the
fixed memory leaks that people complain about. But I personally never noticed a problem
except will dealing with some Flash items. I have only major problem I have seen
is with AJAX, for example the Hotmail Live or the new Yahoo! mail. This strikes me as
weird, because I don't really seem to be having troubles with Javascript. One new feature
I notice is if you click close when you have tabs open, instead of just asking if you want
to close or cancel, you can save the current tabs to be there when you open Firefox the
next time. It also has a better way of asking if you want to remember your password.
Instead of asking you before it sends the request to the server, it now goes ahead and
logs you in, then a drop down at the top appears like the image below.
Firefox now renders the Acid 2
test properly. And speaking of which, I would like to congratulate the
IE Team
for doing the same thing with their IE 8 Beta (which has not been released yet). IE is finally
trying to go more standards based which I am happy about, whether this was caused by the
complaint that IE is not standards based issued by Opera or not, I am still happy to see
they are trying to follow the standards. But anyways, I would only recommend that you
download Firefox 3.0 Beta 2 if you like playing with new things.

It's always been humans dream to fly like a bird, but the closest we have
come involves using machines. Now there are a few groups throughout the world
that are trying to "fly" without machines and land without a parachute. Their
biggest problem at the moment is the landing without using a parachute. It looks
pretty cool, and extremely dangerous. For a full article, visit the
NY Times full story.
And the top video below is Loïc Jean-Albert of France and the one below that is Max Hurd.

I spoke last week about a program that would allow you to have four desktops
and allow you to spin them like a cube. I wanted to make a video demostrating
it, but I had problems editing the avi video that I recorded, so if any of you
know a good free program that can edit the size of a avi video, let me know. But
any ways, the program is called YOD'M 3D (Yet Another Desktop Manager). Well
that's what it is used to be called. Otaku Software aquired it and renamed it
to DeskSpace, and made it no longer free. Well you can find the old versions,
such as 1.4 for free. The only down part to doing this is you cannot get any
updates. A short demo is below, and YOD'M 3D
version 1.4 can be download from this site on the Software page.

People a while back wondered why I didn't have comments on my web pages.
There were a couple reasons: 1. I wasn't getting a whole lot of traffic
a year ago, and 2. I didn't know PHP and prefer to code everything I
possibly can myself. Reason being, it makes me learn something new
instead of implementing something that is already done. So since I was
suppose to be doing my homework last night, I needed a distraction. So
I started learning PHP, and vuala, now there are comments. I am not
going to go back and put them on all my old posts (I only did that for
11/29/2007), but they will be on any new post from here on out at the
bottom of a post.
